MEET THE Teacher

Hey, I'm Julia Grock!

Julia Grock is a New York City–based soprano currently entering her third year of study at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. She studies voice with renowned soprano and pedagogue Sherry Overholt, where she continues to develop strong vocal technique, musical sensitivity, and dramatic expression.

During her studies at ACSM, Julia has performed the roles of Amahl in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors and Emmy in Britten’s Albert Herring. In the fall of 2025, she will appear as Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, followed by Rose Maurrant in Street Scene in the spring of 2026.

In the summer of 2025, Julia will make her professional operatic debut under her first professional contract with Opera North, marking an important milestone in her emerging career. That same summer, she will participate in the prestigious international program BIIMA in Italy, where she will continue her operatic training while immersing herself in new cultures, performance experiences, and musical traditions.
