ADAPTED CLASS MATERIALS

Our special needs music program provides foundational music skills through a supportive and sensory-friendly approach.

Lessons are designed to explore pitch, rhythm, tempo, and dynamics in a way that is accessible and engaging for children with developmental and learning differences. Activities may include movement, instrument play, listening games, and visual aids to support comprehension and participation.

As students progress, they are gradually introduced to more advanced concepts at a pace suited to their individual learning style. Our goal is to build musical understanding, self-esteem, and joy while preparing students for any future musical paths they may pursue.

CLASS MATERIAL

Our visual arts program provides students with the foundational techniques and creative freedom needed to explore various mediums and styles.

Students will be introduced to drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Lessons will focus on elements of art such as line, shape, color, texture, form, space, and value, as well as principles of design and composition.

As students progress, they will engage in more complex projects that challenge their imagination and technical ability. Portfolios will be developed as students prepare for advanced studies or arts-based school applications.

PACONY and their group of very talented instructors make a difference in the Jackson Heights community. Its director Teresa Rishik is dedicated to all students and has made her goal to try to reach all families by keeping a low tuition with a high level of service and music instruction, compared with other schools in Queens.

I am beyond blessed to have my daughter enrolled at the Performing Arts School of Music. I can truly say all the teachers are passionate, committed, and pour out so much love to our children, embracing their gifts and talents.

Dear Mr. Mark, Thank you so much for all your patience and positivity this last year and a half with Joshua. I enrolled him back then not knowing how it would go, if he would last a month, or if it would be impossible for him to sit still long enough for the lesson. To see him performing at the recitals every few months brought me more pride than words can describe, and that is thanks to you and your extraordinary way of engaging him from day one, reassuring him whenever he felt discouraged and frustrated, and being a teacher/influence in his life that he will always remember. Thank you so much for everything!

Esteemed Ms. Teresa Marín Rishik, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to you and the staff of dedicated teachers which comprise the Performing Arts Conservatory of NY. Amaru, our grandson, has been one of the fortunate recipients of the excellent instruction provided by outstanding role models in this institution. My tenure as a school psychologist has allowed me to understand the importance of this opportunity. The guidance and direction the students receive at this facility extends far beyond the valued instruction of music. Students are encouraged to develop their creativity, enhance their time management skills, as well as their ability to focus and concentrate, all of which are essential to any future endeavor. Participating in various performances enhances ones ability to confront challenging tasks with a growing sense of confidence. The training provided by this music school, assists in ones development across various realms, be they academic, cognitive or social. The role of music in the improvement of mathematics is well documented. Research also indicates that music enhances social interactions and can serve to release tensions in our busy lives. Lastly, through music students are introduced to the beauty and art of various cultures of Spain, France, Latin America, Germany, Japan, India, Africa etc. In our global world, this is a treasured asset. I wish to reiterate, that our family is indebted to the education and support provided by this esteemed institution. May the Performing Arts Conservatory of NY continue to flourish and prosper into the future. Respectfully yours,
